Dutch oven cooking

We’re new to this board, but have been camping for 10 years or so. Anyone do any cooking with cast iron Dutch ovens? I discovered this great implement about 6 years ago and love it! Would like to share recipes if anyone has any good ones. I have 2, both are Lodges (only kind to get) and I think they are 12″ wide, one deep and one shallow. I think they’re 8 and 6 quart respectively.

Alaska

We’re planning a trip in July this year. Anybody out there got any good tales/tips on the trip? We leave from Vancouver. Is the ferry better to Juneau? Or the long drive up to Prince Rupert then on, or ferry from Vancouver Island to Prince Rupert?

Questions on toad

We have just purchased a 2004 40 ft Coachmen Sportscoach Elite and we are hoping to get into full-timing next year. Right now we are getting set up and are looking into getting a towable 4 wheel down vehicle. We are looking at a 2004 Saturn Vue AWD which I know is flat towable and a 2005 GMC Jimmy 4WD which I am not sure on. Does anyone know if the Jimmy is 4 wheel down towable? I have check the motorhome list and it does not list a 2005 Jimmy. Also, I have been doing some research and I think I would need a tow bar, base plate, safety cables, light system and brake system to be able to tow the vehicle. Is this all I would need, what would be the best product and where would I purchase these products? By the way we are currently living in Newfoundland, Canada so it may be better if I have some places in Canada to purchase the products.

Everything in this newsletter is true to the best of our knowledge. But we occasionally get something wrong. We’re just human! So don’t go spending $10,000 on something we said was good just because we said so, or fixing something like we suggested (check with your own technician first). Maybe we made a mistake. So be sure to check things out. At RVbookstore.com we strive for excellence in all we do and that’s the honest truth (as opposed to the dishonest truth). Our customers receive really, really fast service. We move so fast in sending out a customer’s order that sometimes we pass through the sound barrier, which really upsets our neighbors.
