For anyone considering the fulltime RV lifestyle, a state to establish a home base can be vitally important. Living costs: full-timing versus stick house

I am hoping somebody can prove me wrong here. Currently, I live in a “stick” house (condo) and just RV recreationally. I did full-time for about 8 months when I was “between houses” and it’s a good alternative! Now I was seriously considering selling my condo next summer and full-timing again. I wanted to justify it by proving it was “cheaper.” The savings for me were not that significant. Basically, you just replace one cost with another. hope someone proves me wrong. But I do believe we can make a blanket statement that it won’t be more expensive than a stick house–unless you buy a gazillion dollar RV.

WTB: generator for 5th wheel

Living here in south Florida during the hurricane season means possibly losing power for lengthy periods of time. I’m looking for information on what model generator to buy so that I can use my 27.5′ 5th wheel, A/C and all in the event we lose power to the house. I’m new to RVing, we use our 5er often, and could really use some good info.

With the increase of gas prices…

What are ways you use to decrease your fuel consumption? (or considering). I’m thinking about changing to a cold air intake with a K&N filter.
