Your solution for those rainy, boring days on the road
As you know, some days on the fulltiming road are too rainy or windy or cold to venture outside. On the inside, maybe there’s nothing interesting to watch on TV — or no TV connection in the first place. Maybe you don’t have an Internet connection, either, or an unread book or magazine. Perhaps your grandkids are with you, whining because they’re bored. Well, there’s a universal, infallible solution for all this. Read on.
One more way to make your fulltiming pay
As fulltiming becomes more expensive in our sluggish economy, RVers are finding creative ways to use an RV for a business. Here’s an example.

Questions on toad
We have just purchased a 2004 40 ft Coachmen Sportscoach Elite and we are hoping to get into full-timing next year. Right now we are getting set up and are looking into getting a towable 4 wheel down vehicle. We are looking at a 2004 Saturn Vue AWD which I know is flat towable and a 2005 GMC Jimmy 4WD which I am not sure on. Does anyone know if the Jimmy is 4 wheel down towable? I have check the motorhome list and it does not list a 2005 Jimmy. Also, I have been doing some research and I think I would need a tow bar, base plate, safety cables, light system and brake system to be able to tow the vehicle. Is this all I would need, what would be the best product and where would I purchase these products?
Thinking of purchasing a new RV
We are going to retire in 2010. We are thinking this is the time to buy as we’re getting a 25% discount. So we’re thinking of buying a Coach House Platinum 272. Anyone out there who owns one? Or has owned one? How do you like it? We plan on doing a lot of traveling. This is a 27-foot rig so can get into state parks, and should be easy to drive. If we get a diesel, they say we can get up to 20 miles a gallon. Is it worth the extra $6000? Once we retire, this will be our last RV, so going to have to last us a long time.
Using cruise control
Still green with this. We took a long weekend trip in our 35′ class A and hubby put it in cruise control (62 mph) most of the way. What we are wondering is if we are really saving fuel (gas) by doing this since most roads are not flat and have inclines, and well, you know the rest. Opinions out there?

Everything in this newsletter is true to the best of our knowledge. But we occasionally get something wrong. We’re just human! So don’t go spending $10,000 on something we said was good just because we said so, or fixing something like we suggested (check with your own technician first). Maybe we made a mistake. So be sure to check things out. At RVbookstore.com we strive for excellence in all we do and that’s the honest truth (as opposed to the dishonest truth). Our customers receive really, really fast service. We move so fast in sending out a customer’s order that sometimes we pass through the sound barrier, which really upsets our neighbors.
