Planning Fulltiming or Snowbirding? Deal With Debt Now
Ask any fulltime RVer on the road today, they’ll tell you not having debt hanging over your head is a blessed relief. But just how can you get out from under the load of credit cards and the rest? Financial author Linda Epstein tackles that very question, and address snowbird wantabees in a recent blog posting on WalletPop.
If you’re getting close to heading out on the road, Epstein recommends something that may raise a few eyebrows: Reduce the retirement account contributions, and instead take the money and pump into into debt payoff. With high interest rates on many credit cards, you’ll probably get ahead in the process.
And be sure to click on the entry’s “snowball effect” link to learn more what order (and how) to tackle those credit card accounts. Getting ‘out from under’ may not be as hard as you think, and hitting the road without an extra financial burden will make life a whole lot smoother.
